A playwright and theatremaker by trade, Gigi moved to New Orleans in 2005 after a long family love affair with the city. While making theatre in a flooded-out Mid City raised basement, she received a BA from the University of New Orleans, taught art in New Orleans public schools, and later earned an MFA in playwriting from the University of Texas at Austin.
Gigi has an enduring passion for old houses and for making any and every space inviting. She became interested in real estate while teaching herself the ins and outs of the home buying process. As an artist, she believes homeownership provides an anchor for adventurers and entrepreneurs of all stripes. It is a vital tool for planting generational wealth and it’s the glue that holds together the neighborhoods which make New Orleans so singular. She also knows how daunting the process can be and is happy to help folks navigate first-time home buying and selling.
When not connecting people to spaces they love, Gigi may be found in Brooklyn where she also shares time, or making meals with her partner in their Bywater house, or plotting up a new piece of theatre.
"Gigi connected me to the New Orleans home of my dreams.
After a 2020 relocation from the SF Bay Area, I fell in love with New Orleans & was ready to buy my little slice of history.
Before meeting Gigi, I worked with a realtor from a different, bigger real estate firm in the city. I felt like the other agent didn't understand me & my priorities - but then a mutual acquaintance connected me with Gigi. It was meant to be.
There are not enough good things to say about the buying process that Gigi shepherded me through: she thoughtfully curated properties for me (carefully balancing historic charm, modern updates, and great locations); she expertly negotiated a great deal in a time that did not favor buyers; she educated all parties on the nuances of the VA Loan I was using and; she made me feel calm and informed in all interactions we had, including during closing.
I am beyond grateful for all the hard work she put in for me. I sit in my beautiful single shotgun house and am slightly overwhelmed by how much I love my life in this home. Thanks Gigi."

"Gigi Reisman is a phenomenal realtor and a dream to work with! She was so patient with us and was 100% committed to helping us find our new home. We felt we were in very capable hands during the entire home buying process. She was honest, knowledgable, communicative, and went above and beyond to help us find our new home.
She even stays in contact with you after the sale to handle anything that may pop up.
I would suggest anyone looking for an agent to reach out to Gigi! You will be happy you did!

"Gab was essential to our relocation from Northern California to New Orleans this past winter. Initially we thought we could move into a short-term rental and look for an apartment once we arrived, but after just a couple calls and emails with Gab we changed our plans entirely, and we are so thankful to only make that big move once! Gab was great, so easy to work with, she put together an amazing listing map, helped us narrow down neighborhoods and dashed around town to give us Facetime tours and priceless feedback on the spaces. After enlisting her help, we signed a lease (remotely) in less than a week and we love where we have landed!"
